Milestone 4
*NOTE: Our team has revised this milestone based on feedback from our class and our client.* Download the new report: PDF
Summary
Our team learned a lot from this milestone. We began the process by constructing a paper prototype featuring our product’s main functionalities:
- Meeting Preparation
- Meeting Capture
- Meeting Organization
- Meeting Follow-Up
The prototype contained complete functionality including menus and pop-up windows. After we built the initial prototype, we tested it with four potential users with experience in 5-12 person meetings.

Milestone Outcomes
It is clear from feedback from our peers and our client that we need to refine the features that we have chosen for the lo-fi prototype. We began this project with three product functions based on our contextual inquiry:(1) Software whiteboard (2) Audio recording and archiving and (3) Electronic Note-taking.
After our personas and scenarios, we added a fourth feature: the ability of meeting participants to submit and view their own questions and comments alongside others before, during, and after a meeting. After our survey, we added (5) File and agenda annotation (6) meeting evaluation (7) meeting summaries (8) meeting organization in folders. Our initial lo-fi prototype included these features and based on user feedback, we added (9) screen-recording (10) meeting evaluation and (11) meeting information publishing.
Although the majority of these additions are supported with user data, our team realizes that they are not all essential to the core goals of our product which are to help participants capture information during meetings and share information with others after meetings. As we move forward with the project, we are going to focus on the software whiteboard, audio and screen capture, and information publishing as our core features since these are most in line with the original project goals and well-supported with user data.
